Configure Table Based Shipping

In Store -> Shipping, you could configure your shipping regions and rates. To enable "Table Based Shipping", click "Enabled" checkbox and enter a digital number in "Sort Order" such as 0. Click "Save" button after you have done the change.

Now you could start adding shipping method. Click "Add Shipping Method" button and you will be prompted a popup window to enter some basic settings for this shipping method. The value of "Shipping Method Name" will be displayed to your customers where they choose the shipping method for their orders. You could enter something like "USPS Priority Mail", "UPS Overnight" etc. "Shipping Basis" describes what the shipping rate is based on. If you choose "Total Order Amount", the shipping rate applies to the total order amount. If you choose "Total Order Weight", the shipping rate is calculated based on the sum of the weight of all the order items. "Rate Unit" defined the shipping rate unit. If you choose "Amount" the value in the shipping rate table is the dollar amount for that shipping method. If you choose "Percentage", then the rate will multiply to the "Shipping Basis" to get the dollar amount for that shipping method. "Sort Order" defines the order that multiple shipping methods are displayed. The shiping method with the smallest numer of "Sort Order" gets displayed first. Click "Ok" after you done. You will be prompted a Shipping Region Wizard to add shipping regions in the shipping method that you just entered.

There are a few predefined shipping region which you could load by clicking "Load Predefined Shipping Region" Button. You could also define you own shipping region. Enter a value for "Shipping Region Name" such as New York, All US States etc. In "Shipping Region Definitions" choose appropriate conditions that define the shipping region. You could enter multiple conditions to define a shipping region. These conditions are "AND" clause, meaning all the conditions must be met in order to qualify this shipping region. For example, you could define "Continental US" as three conditions: Country Equal US, State NotEqual AK and State NotEqual US. Note all the values to Country and State must be two-letter code. Click "Next" button when you are done with this step.

Next step is where you define the shipping rate table for the shipping region. Depending on the "Shipping Basis" that you chose earlier, the "From" and "To" columns are based on order amount or order weight. Enter the value in these two columns to define the range. In the "Rate" column enter the rate for that range. The unit of the "Rate" is what you have defined earler in "Rate Unit". If you choose "Amount", then the value here is the dollar amount. If you choose "Percentage", the rate will apply to "Shipping Basis" to get the final rate. For example, "Shipping Basis" is "Total Order Amount" and the rate is 0.10. If the order total is $40, then the shipping rate is $40 * 0.10 = $4. Look another example. Shipping Basis" is "Total Order Weight" and the rate is 2.0. If the order total weight is 3 lbs, the shipping rate is 3 * 2.0 = $6. If you need more rows for your shipping rate table, click "Add Row" to add another row. When you finish click "Finish" button.
